With powerful, expressive vocals, this soulful singer/songwriter continues to attract new listeners from around the globe thanks to a growing presence on iTunes in North America, Europe and Asia. Brandy Moore has been performing live for over two decades, with appearances in western Canada, the southwestern United States, Mexico and Central America. She's released five independent CDs to date and is currently working on new original material for her sixth. Her most recent CD project, "Real Good Love", was recorded in Nashville with the help of several seasoned session players, including Bonnie Raitt's long-time guitarist George Marinelli. This latest CD features a dynamic mix of originals and covers in the genres of old school soul, swampy blues and adult contemporary.
After spending the last 13 years in Canada's prairies, Brandy just recently moved back to her birth province of BC in January. Currently based in Kelowna, she plans to travel and perform regularly throughout BC and other parts of Canada. She'd also like to organize another southwestern US tour sometime, and a house concert tour in Europe someday as well. For now, she's just happy to be back home in beautiful BC and looks forward to enjoying new opportunities to share her passion for singing and live music!
Brandy recently won second place in the annual Lake Country Open Mic Has Talent competition held in Winfield, BC. She and five other acts performed two original songs each in the finale on Wednesday, April 16th at the Lake Country Coffee House. She's very honored to have been recognized, and very grateful to be the recipient of some terrific prizes! Taking part in this competition has been a great way for Brandy to receive some exposure as a newly landed singer in the area. Her prizes include studio time with Dan Marcelino of DMA Studios and opportunities to perform in outdoor events through the Lake Country Open Air Performance Society, ArtWalk, and the Interior Provincial Exhibition and Stampede (IPE).
Brandy has also begun rehearsing with a new jazz trio. She met and sang with them at Kelowna's weekly "Live after 5" jazz jam, held at the Rotary Center for the Arts every Thursday. After hearing her sing, the trio's leader invited her to come rehearse with them and they're on the lookout for opportunities to perform at wineries, festivals, weddings, and whatever else comes up!
Last but not least, the Kelowna Folk Club has invited Brandy to come perform a 45 minute opening set for an evening of blues on May 3rd at the Volcanic Hills Winery in West Kelowna. The headliner for this event is Juno nominated bluesman James "Buddy" Rogers, with Mike Wedge on bass and James Badger on drums. These guys are all terrific players and Brandy has known them since her Vancouver days, so she's thrilled to get the chance to share a musical evening with them!
